I started this web site and this campaign after being given Ciprofloxicin for an inflamed breast cyst.  Incidentally, it should never have been given for this.  I had a bad doctor, or more definitely, a bad RN.  Possibly just uneducated, however, not being educated on the drugs that a doctor dispenses is no excuse.  I look at it this way, if you pick up a pen and write a prescription, you should know everything about that drug there is to know, not just how much the pharmaceutical company is paying you to know.  And so, angry at what happened to me, I decided to make my experience count and educate everyone I could about the toxic effects these drugs can have and the devastation they can leave lives in.

I was lucky.  Mine was a mild reaction.  Keep that thought as you read through my story, MILD.  If you have someone, anyone you love, pass this information on to them.  If you have a pet you love, know this, there are floxins out there just for veterinary purposes and they go under different names with the same devastating effects.  Again, with the exception of a few, the doctors are either not educated or don't care.

As for lawyers, give it up.  If you haven't ruptured a tendon you won't be invited to a class action suit.  As for any other complaints you're not worth enough money (for them to make) unless you're permanently disabled or dead.  Unfortunately, if you're here because you took one of these drugs with problems, you're on your own.  If you have insurance, that's great.  Just be advised they will milk you for every penny they can get and run as many expensive tests that they can think up.  If you're uninsured with a good credit line, it's time to invest and find a complementary physician who will take the time to believe you were poisoned.  If you have no money or all insurance companies have dropped you, the world will tell you too bad.  I will tell you to read my blog, do your research on the internet and make your own decisions on what you think you need to do to get well. 

It's time to stand up as a nation, as individuals, one by one and make our voices heard.  The pharmaceutical companies need to know... we will not be violated in this way.

Studies on Ciprofloxacin (the truth they don't want you to know):
A study on Rats providing data on the link between Magnesium deficiency and Muscle & Cartilage Damage
Another study on Rats with more data on the damaging changes in cartilage.
A study on Dogs providing data on the same damaging effects of cartilage.
A study on young Dogs and Horses with more data to prove the effects.
There are many, many studies out there on the net.  If you're wondering where the studies on humans are, they have some, but will only admit the possibility of these effects.  And then only in the young and old of our society.  That's because to know for sure if there are lesions on the cartilage they need a sample biopsy (painful, expensive procedure).  Any volunteers?  The animals in the studies, unfortunately, were killed, disassembled and analyzed under a microscope to know for sure just what was happening to them.  It's a sacrifice we, as humans, need to respect and know that those lives were to help save ours.  Unless you are at death's door, don't accept a fluoroquinolone.  Even then, you may have to decide if it's worth the risk.
